Unschooling4Life.com: Information about unschooling

I created Unschooling4Life.com as an easy-to-use resource to help answer the questions that new unschoolers have as they embark on this journey. I will be the first one to admit that this site is a work in progress and I am constantly adding new entries that I feel are important. I hope that you find this site useful and helpful.

Update: I’ve had this site for quite awhile now and I have to admit that unschooling is not for everyone. Though the concept is quite simple, it’s also very difficult because of having to deschool yourself and your children (if they had attended school prior). In fact, it’s not for me to be honest. The ideals are great but I’m having quite a difficult time completely trusting the process and letting go. I haven’t really been successful at unschooling. This is heavily due to the fact that my family and I are living with my in-laws who believe in the school system. They are completely against homeschooling. Imagine if they knew I was trying unschooling? Since there other issues that I have to deal with concerning the in-laws, I am trying to keep the peace by at least giving the kids a more structural homeschooling.

I’m more of an eclectic homeschooler anyway, taking bits and pieces from different types of homeschooling and finding what fits my family. However, many of the unschooling ideals still resonates within me.

I also know that there are many of you who truly want to go down the unbeaten path of unschooling. Therefore, I’m leaving this site open as a gateway for you. Thanks for visiting!
